O’Brien Fabrications Ltd. is looking for a Foreman who can plan, direct, organize and manage, all sizes of construction projects in the Tri-City, Guelph, Stratford and surrounding area. The purpose of the job is to control, direct and evaluate the commercial and high-rise construction team constituted by Project Managers and upper management, as well as all aspects of commercial construction projects ensuring each project is as profitable as possible. The Foreman is responsible for ensuring all objectives and standards are met, and for finding solutions to problems as they arise.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee project completion, providing leadership and direction to company staff on site
• Provide a high level of customer service as the primary point of contact on site
• Work with project management staff to identify change orders according to company standards
• Have a thorough understanding of all project documents in order to complete projects with a high level of accuracy and project management
• Attend all site meetings and manage project requirements
• Manage the distribution of project information in a timely manner
• Review field inspection reports from consultants throughout the project and ensure all points are completed in a timely manner
• Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
• Fit and join sheet metal components to fabricate products such as ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, partition frames, air and heat ducts, material handling systems, etc.
• Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications
• Ensure that equipment, materials, manpower are available on site when needed
• Provide team members with relevant information required for their work
• Successfully manage subcontractors to ensure timely execution of work
• Ensure stakeholder relationships are maintained at high level
• Communicate toolbox talks and complete required safety documentation
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for projects

Qualifications Include:

• 8+ years in the construction industry with mechanical experience and background
• Knowledge of plumbing, sheet metal, and HVAC and construction protocol
• Knowledge in concrete and wood structure fire rating codes
• Proven experience as a Site Foreman
• Ability to read and understand all trades drawings, specifications
• Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes & equipment
• Experience managing, coaching, mentoring, and motivating teams
• Outstanding communication skills; excellent organizational & time-management skills; Strong leadership skills
• Skillful delegator, adept at identifying crucial aspects of the project and prioritizing them, while staying on top of all other aspects of the role
• Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel. Experience using Procore or a similar project management software
• Valid driver’s license
• All licenses and certifications up to date (WHIMS 2015, WAH, Ontario Trades Certificate, 4 step awareness)

At least 3 references and 3 projects managed required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to $50.00 per hour
