BAS Specialist:
This position is responsible for completing Building Automation Systems (BAS) preventive and corrective maintenance at the selected sites. The candidate must organize and prioritize multiple preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, effectively manage stressful situations, understand the complex client and customer relationships and develop and effectively manage customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Provide periodic maintenance and service of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complete corrective repair measures.
- Should be able to repair/replace BAS end devices such as valve/damper actuator, space/duct mounted temperature sensor etc.
- Perform periodic maintenance and calibration on system components.
- Where required supervise and inspect BAS work performed by vendors.
- Provide emergency support and monitoring service (as required).
- Providing regular feedback to Facility Managers (FMs) & BAS program manager.
- Follow-up on corrective Work Order (WO) items until resolved.
- Audit corrective maintenance WOs for cost optimization.
- Review preventive maintenance work order report for quality contents and compliance to Master System Agreement (MSA).

- Must be bilingual (French & English)
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience required in BAS & HVAC maintenance.
- Must have 3+ experience working with Teletrol and Strato products.
- An engineering or technical degree and relevant experience in the field or in a related area is preferred.
- Knowledgeable in DDC control theory such as PID loop tuning and must have a working knowledge of HVAC systems such as pumps, flow rates, delta T, and hydronic based systems.
- Able to use Windows based software tools with excel programming experience.
- Adept in the use of standard Building Management User Interface features like trending and scheduling.
- Familiar with low voltage electrical control systems.
- Experience with open protocols like LonWorks and BACnet.
- Knowledge in following product lines/systems is beneficial: Johnson Controls METASYS and/or Tridium/Niagara Framework
- The ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form to technical and non-technical people.
- Proven customer service and follow-up skills.
- Outstanding troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Able to use a ladder and lift loads of 25 lbs.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications
- Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel 90% of time across Quebec.
- Ability to travel 10% of time across Ottawa.
