Tutor Responsibilities :

• Provide help with homework, lessons, exam preparation and provide enrichment to our students of various grade levels
• Help our students catch up in school subjects where they have fallen behind

To be a tutor, you must :

• Be enrolled in/or graduated from post-secondary school
• Be available Monday to Friday as of 3:00 p.m. and/or on the weekends
• This is a great opportunity for students who want to pursue teaching, to obtain experience and hours for PDP admissions. We can write a letter letting them know how many hours of experience you have.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience working with children of the grades 1-7
• Must know the subject thoroughly and be able to teach effectively
• Degree in related area is an asset
• Familiarity with elementary and/or high school curriculum in BC is an asset.
• Commitment to academic integrity.
• Excellent conversation skills with school aged students.
• Good work ethics - punctual, honest, organized, goal oriented.
• As classes are in-person, candidates must be okay with going to the students house. Therefore, must have a means of transportation.

Work Hours:

Sessions typically take place after school. Hours will vary but range from 3:30 pm onwards. Must be flexible with days. Depending on the students availability, hours will range from 1 hour a week, and can go up to 10 hours. You may work with more than one student. Must give a 6 month commitment. Most of our clients are located in the South Surrey area. Candidates must be willing to drive to that area.

Salary: From $17- 22 per hour. Pay depends on years of experience.
